The grand summer camp adventure of Leo
Leo loved summer. One morning, he decided to get up early, full of anticipation. He quickly got ready to move out for his grand adventure. "Wait!" called
his mom. "Don't go away without breakfast!" He promised he would come back soon.
At the bustling summer camp, he had to check in at the main office. An energetic camper, Maya, asked, "Want to come along to the serene lake for a swim?"
Leo eagerly agreed. As they explored, Maya warned, "We need to look out for hidden rocks near the shore." Suddenly, a curious fox showed up from behind a
bush. Later that afternoon, a spontaneous water balloon fight broke out on the main field. One shy kid tried to run away from the splash zone. At dinner
time, everyone had to sit down at the long communal tables, then stand up for a cheerful camp song.
After dinner, his new friend Alex invited him: "Do you want to come over to my cabin to play cards?" Later that evening, a sudden thunderstorm started. The camp leader
calmly said, "Hold on tight everyone! The storm will go on for a while." Leo worried the generator might pass out. Miraculously, the camp's old jeep,
which often used to break down, started perfectly when they needed supplies. The next day, a few overwhelmed campers decided to drop out of the
challenging orienteering course. He watched them quietly go out of the forest trail. He encouraged another friend, "Just keep on trying! You're almost
there!" Leo realized how much he had grown up and learned during his time at camp.
A few days later, an exciting talent show broke out in the recreation hall! "Are you going to come along and sing with us?" someone asked Leo. He
hesitated for a moment, but decided not to drop out of the fun this time. Before the show, he helped everyone check in their musical instruments and
props backstage. After his fantastic performance, he was so exhausted he almost fell down.
The camp counselor reminded everyone it was time to check out their cabins for cleanliness before departure. Then, it was time to formally check out of
the camp for good, feeling a mix of sadness and joy. He just had to come in to the main office one last time to pick up his certificate. On his way home, he decided to
drop by the small, rustic souvenir shop one last time to buy a memento.
